script streamlined, cut down to 80 pages – new troupe of actors flowing through the apartment/studio. have a greenscreen area set up in the front for the next month, slowly developing the characters, and shooting film.
Initial artwork completed…
setting up the workstation in Studio City to engage in the Post industry there (the 2007 demo reel is available here), acquiring the rest of the gear I need, plotting the shooting schedule and FX, refining the script, composing music for the soundtrack, and up late most nights…
A walk in the park
Following is a park sequence from Justice, before the onslaught:
EXT. CLOSE DOLLY SHOT IN FRONT OF THE couple.
They walk slowly through a sunny grove of trees in a park. The noise of civilization permeates the background, underscoring the weight of Dean’s mood, adding contrast along with the bright, sunny setting.
DEAN
A nice soft death, with the sun on my shoulders… if I could close my eyes now and go on to the other place. But the current that passes through me, that animates me, cannot be shut inside a box (metaphor) or set free. If I could feel less, or glide among the everglades, or attain enlightenment, or go for a long walk in the rain. But there is no more outward change for me, no more grasping for something out of reach…

Did you see the clouds yesterday?
DEAN (looks incredulous)

Justice remains apart from the political aspect because it’s not defined by the will of man, but of nature.
